Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw (帕奧禪師), a world-renowned meditation master, will give a dharma talk on Five Aggregates to conclude our meditation retreat (see below), but the general public is also welcome to attend. Pa-Auk Sayadaw was born in 1934 and ordained as a bhikkhu in Burma in 1954. He learned meditation from several teachers, including the Most Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw, and practiced forest dwelling since 1964. He became the abbot of Pa Auk Tawya Forest Monastery in 1981. His meditation teaching is based on Visuddhi-magga (The Path of Purification) and Pali scriptures. He started teaching meditation internationally in 1997, and conducted a 2-months retreat in Taiwan annually since 1998. He was bestowed the title 'Agga Maha Kammatthanacariya' by the Burmese government in 1999. Ven. Dhammadipa (性空法師), who has taught meditation in the bay area, is a student of Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw.
